Finally i decided i should go for Sennheiser Headphones..

    heard good about them

I shortlisted some of their models..

can u guys tell me how are they:

    HD201

    HD205

    And HD 212 Pro

Actually the thing is that HD212 pro are selling very cheap now..

IF they are good for DJing i can buy them..

But only if HD205 isnt good.

I think HD205 are the best & my first choice but Dont know how they perform.

Can you tell me which are better for Sound editing, Sound mixing & Remixing.

i am into moviemaking & need Accurate Sound delivery at a Medium price.

I'm sure they will be good. I have the HD-555's and they rock. Very even sound. Senns are known to be very good quality.
I'm not sure what the price points of these cans are, but I assume if you're not spending $500+ on some cans, that you aren't doing pro level work, and thus these should be more than adequate.

Make sure you have a good sound card paired with these for mixing! Skip those crappy creative labs cards and integrated ones. That will make a big difference in quality you hear in your cans, though you probably already know that.

Check out some of the big headphone (cans) review sites. There are some very good ones out there, I just can't think of their names!

I love my Sony V900-HD's. They sound awesome and are near indestructible and comfortable to wear even for extremely long periods of time. Give them a whirl.

The way I understand it, if you are looking to edit and record, you'd want something more neutral.

No personal experience with these cans myself, but from I read they're pretty bassy. Maybe something like the Sony MDR-V6 or MDR-7506 would serve you better.

    Cheers.

Nah, the Senn's blow those away. I used to own the MDR-v6/v600. They weren't even close to the build and sound quality. And my senns were only $20 more.

Yup, senns blow competition away including my old Sony & creatives..

I am gonna write a review for them now....

btw check this out.. a description of Sennheiser:

No doubt all my DJ friends use Senns..

they make Sony look like newbies

    Although Senns are slightly expensive..

and Design isnt very Good as compared to Pioneers that DJ Tiesto uses...

oh ho ... but they ll blow a hole in your Bank Account

Ive got the senn 205 too and while they are a little bass heavy, they are a great choice for under $100

If you want to get Sen, you will want HD555 or above at least. Besides, IMO Senn are very overrated nowadays - they aren't any better than competing HiFi headphone brands. Of course, aside from Sony, noone of these brands are available in average electronic stores....

And if you want something below 50$, KOSS KSC75 is the best bang for buck headphones, imo.

You will have more choices in 50$-100$ range. I'd recommend Grado SR-60 or Denon AH-D1000, although later is getting closer to 100$ mark.

<edited> I noticed you want to do DJing..Does that mean you will need these "DJ headphones" with tight seals? Or you just need good headphones?

the problem is that its hard to find these niche exclusive brands in countries outside US..

i am in Singapore which is the best place in Asia for electronic shopping..

but there aint many Brands of headphones..

the local firm Creative inc. fills up their n00b overrated products in all stores & coz of that there aint many Sennheiser, Audio technia or Bose models..

These HD205 which i bought are the best for new or DJ's on budget.

I am more than happy with the output..

i can very well hear the lows & highs.

Right now Buy.com has AudioTechnica ATH-AD700s for $80 after Google checkout. Excellent price for the set. I was SOO tempted but I already got Senn HD555 for openc and and AudioTechnica ATH-A900 for closed ones.

Thanks HD555 are great but they are OPEN..

I am into Freelance DJing, Sound mixing and i also listen to music in Bus & Train..

so i for me my HD 205 which are CLOSED are best.

Since they are SupraAural they are also Portable & Let the Heat escape.

So for me HD205 are the best.

But for Pure Audiophiles who just listen & enjoy music... HD555 are the better option.

For bassy "fun" music IMO the ATH-A700 or A900 will probably be better since it has better bass. AudioTechnicas sound good with Japanese pop music because it is designed for such. It has more of a focus on the highs and lows. The mids are not bad but definitely not a forte. Japanese music have alot of techno and eurobeat elements. Not sure how well it will translate into trance. Should be pretty good IMO because trance is not very focused on the vocals.

    Sorry to hi-jack:

Anyone have any experiences with these headphone - Sennheiser HD202? I am thinking about ordering these from newegg. I am going to do some light music productions (nothing hardcore like dj mixing) and mainly listen to rock, j-pop, dance, and video games/anime musics. I need something that is light and can be worn for a long period of time.

My previous headphone was the sony's mdr and they were ok, a little too low and were unconformable to wear. I don't mind spending a little bit more for something better than those.

Do you want to do "DJing" in clubs (or whatever it is called nowadays), or you just need good headphones? "DJ" headphones tend to be very tight and thus uncomfortable, so I don't recommend them if you don't need them...

Being a studio musician for the past 10 years, I NEED good quality headphones. My studio is filled with, I believe, 13 sets of HD280's. I use 2 sets of Beyerdyanimcs just for mixing.

Ok, sorry to sound rude. But I have seen ONE person make a pretty solid headphone recomendation in this entire thread. Beyerdyanimcs are great! And the HD280's are pretty Decent.

The Sennheiser 555's are kind of a joke in the Studio World. But then again they are DJ Headphones. But then again again DJ headphones are a joke in the Studio World. Remember Sennheiser does not really grade thier headphones based on the #'s. They kind of do, by series (100/200/500 etc...). The 280's are pretty solid. But if you really want a pair of amazing headphones from Sennheiser get the 550's.

There is always the old standby and are always easy to get. The Sony 7506's. They are pretty much the "standard". Also M-Audio put out some headphones not to long ago, the Q40's. I own a pair and they are freaking awesome. And not bad price ($150.00).
