    You have to buy a VGA to composite converter box, probably around $100. Search Google for one.

    Your laptop HAS svideo, that cable converts it into COMPOSITE (RCA) for your tv. You plug that little converter into your laptop and then a normal rca cable into that then into your tv.

    That one you linked will not work, it is only svideo-->svideo with the 3.5mm miniplug-->stereo rca. That still would not solve the problem of you tv not having svideo.

    ... are you serious.

    [G1S S-video out] -> [S-video end of cable] -> [cable] -> [composite ends of cable] -> [TV]

    the cable does the conversion

    look buddy sorry im not extremely knowledgable with this stuff, is an RCA cord both viedo and audio, will i get sound through my tv as well?

    I would assume not, but then i could just run a normal audio cable right, so i would have to use two different cables?

    The s-video cable carries ONLY video, as indicated by its name. Heres what your setup should look like:

    You will need 2 cables.

    1.) S-video on one end, and composite on the other
    http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/11N3N6E83TL._AA160_.jpg

    You are going to connect the s-video to your laptop, and the composite(yellow) to your tv. This cable will carry the video

    2.) 3.5mm on one end, and RCA stereo (can be mono) on the other.
    You will now plug in the 3.5mm into your laptop, and plug in the white connector into your tv. This will carry sound.

    Some notes----
    Youre sound will only be mono. So as long as your source is mono you will be fine. Unfortunately very few source's are mono so most of the time you will only be listening to the left or right channel. You will have to configure your soundcard to output in mono.

    Secondly, your video will not be crystal clear. In those terms it will be watchable. But reading text on screen is impossible. Dont expect to be able to use your TV as an external monitor. Only to watch videos and such, but even then quality will be lacking.
