I don't expect bluetooth to have the same quality as a wired headset, but I think mine's worse than it needs to be. I've tried:

    - Jabra BT250 (w/ Asus dongle)
    - Jawbone (w/ Asus dongle)
    - Plantronics 510 (came with its own dongle)

These are the kind which fit over one ear, not headphones style. Have used with both notebook and desktop on Ventrilo and Skype applications.

Usual complaint is that I sound underwater near a jet engine (presumably a waterproof engine). I can hear others just fine. I imagine my friends exaggerate, but there's definitely a lot of background hiss and muted voice compared not just to wired headsets, but to how it sounds when I pair it with a cell phone.

Am I missing something I should do to improve the input quality? Or is this just something bluetooth users live with?

    Thanks much for any assistance.

Most Bluetooth headsets have very low quality microphones.
I plan to put a better one in a cheap one I have.
