!!! ANyway, my uncle lives in Massachusetts and if I paid him what would be the tax on top of the price and what would the shipping cost to Canada? And will I have problems at the Canadian border??
-
try the goverment website inregards to costoms, I don't know how well they would take it, if you declare it a 250 and that is electronics they probably will just charge the GST on it... you'll have to check.
-
You're buying a Zune to play AAC...why not an iPod?
-
Generally you'll have to pay some sort of customs. Shouldn't be more than $15 I think. Basically they send a bill to the address that you have it shipped to. At least that's how it's worked for me going the other way before.
-
My archos 604 played aac and mpeg2. Anyway, they usually ask for FCC stuff like WIFI MAC address and where it was manufactured if your crossing over the border with it. Massachusetts sales tax is 5%, but I have no idea what Canada customs charges.
-
If the value is over 200 you have to pay customs, unless the package is marked as a gift.
-
Isn't MS going to start selling the Zune in Canada anyways? Why bother with the border and customs and crap?
-
Metamorphical Good computer user
You could convert AAC to Mp3 in itunes.
-
You could scrap Zune & buy other DRM nonsense free products...3 times a transfered song plays...how did they decide 3?..i mean wth is 3? bill gates lucky number? ..or did he throw a dart blindfolded?
Try RESEARCHING MORE ON these : iRiver, Samsung YP-P2, Creative Zen (Zen is more expensive than iPod now btw)....
And u must really have a good reasoning to explain why u dont want an iPod ? -
When u have 4000 songs in your library does it even matter if your player has radio, GPS, compass, ?(chinese mp3 players)....what matters is if u are able to listen THE song at THE moment.....iPods USP
Now i am not an Apple emo....i have read lot of books on what makes iPod the worlds most popular mp3 that even an 80 Year old person CAN use.(the Pope has an ipod) -
is the conversion AAC to Mp3 OR Mp3 to AAC?...donno coz i only convert WMV to AAC
-
lol the reason three is commonly used is due to the fact that in a theoretical population, the song will be played once in the presence of the "donor" of the song (your friend), once when you are alone and then a third time is left open for all other random purposes. it makes more sense than blindly regarding it as a magic number that shouldnt be used.
say you like the song so much you want to listen to it three times, that's where a business strategy comes into play. that's where you need to figure out a way to get the person to buy the song from your own "itunes" instead of someone elses (which is why apple has such an ingenious integration for it's own itunes service).
anyway, it's not perfect but most of the time when you get a song someone ELSE is trying to show you, chances are it wont fit your music tastes perfectly. have you ever used a zune and listened to a transferred song more than three times? try it before you knock it bro. im willing to bet the only reason it strikes you in a bad way is that it has a psycohological effect on you and it scares you to think that there is an actual limit to the tiems you ahve to listen to your songs. in reality, you already have your favorite few songs already and the transferred songs you REALLY like you should have no problem buying since you...well...you REALLY like them. -
You can choose in iTunes. Go to Preferences, and under Advanced > Importing, you can choose what format to convert to.
-
Enjoy it! I love my Zune.
-
Why not a Zune?
Since the Zune plays AAC, there shouldn't be much reason to do so.
All of those support DRM, as does the Zune. If you don't like DRM, you don't have to use it... just as with the Zune. The only reason the others don't add DRM to wifi-transferred songs is that they don't support wifi-transferred songs at all. You can just turn off the wireless on the Zune to get the exact same effect.
And the Zen is actually less expensive than the iPod now, when comparing the same capacities. At least here in the U.S. it is, anyway.
Maybe he likes Zune better... whatever. Why don't you explain why you would get an iPod instead?
I personally like my Sony A818 better than both (and it also plays AAC by the way)... but a lot of it depends on your needs and preferences. For some people, Zune or iPod would be better. -
I want to get a zune over and Ipod because I want the larger screen and better looks.
-
wow, i find it hard to belive that someone would write a book on what makes the iPod the worlds most popular mp3 player! LOL
but since the pope uses an ipod ... well... he probably knows somthing we don't.
if iever get an mp3 player i guess it will be an ipod since the pope is using 1!! -
my Zen Microphoto owns all of you.
-
Thats just an example to Explain the Greatness of iPod UI ..UI is what really matters when u have to navigate through 4000 songs..
Otherwise u ll keep on pressing 'next' 3999 times on other MP3 players -
You can scroll quite easily with the Zune UI as well. I feel bad for an elderly person with arthritis who has to keep moving his thumb around over and over again to scroll while you can just click on the Zune.
-
hurray for the zune!
one less ipod bought is another step towards the total destruction of apple, leading computer tyrant! -
Are you crazy?!!?!? How is the iPod GUI friendly to scrolling through 4000 songs? I don't think a click-wheel is exactly thumb/finger friendly...after all the original consoles only came with D-Pads and not "nubs" because they're more NATURAL! Plus the fact that the Zune 80 has a touch sensitive touchpad which makes it x10 better to scroll through long lists than a iPod Classic. Do your research next time before saying this.
Also, you CANNOT COMPARE THE ZUNE 80 TO A iPOD TOUCH!!!! -
zune is okay, ipod is the worst possible thing, creative zen vision is good, and ARCHOS is the best...more space, more features, way better resolution.
-
How are those Zunes? I have an iPod nano (2nd generation, 4GB) and the quality of iPods seems to have gone downhill (crashes all the time, skips songs after iTunes corrupts the tag data).
I hate the fact that Microsoft is paying Universal a couple dollars per unit sold.
P.S. You can compare the Zune 80 to an iPod touch. It's a $50 difference. Someone might think it's worth it. Personally, i'd rather get a Asus EEE PC 2G for $299. Full computer > MP3 player -
The new Zunes are nice, I like them too. As for the iPod, maybe yours is defective...I've never had those issues. Have you tried restoring it?
And yes, I would not compare the Zune 80 with the iPod Touch either. The Zune 80 is better compared to the iPod Classic. -
I'm pretty sure it's not an isolated case, it's iPod rot. Both my iPod mini (2nd generation, 4GB) and the nano have been restored numerous times over the past 2 years. The mini actually has less software quirks, but the clickwheel isn't seated well - sometimes the whole assembly clicks in instead of one button.
-
if you want zune NOW then ebay is your best bet, otherwise wait till spring when zune is released in canada. i can say youre making the right choice by going zune. i have a 30gb and an 8gb and love em both SOOO much! best pmp/mp3 player in the market right now IMHO
welcome to the social btw
(^^^ hate that slogan ^^^) -
zune or try the creative zen, both look good. i like the ipod touch coz it just looks sexy.
lol nocturnal u read a book on why ipod is the greatest mp3 player? blah i guess some people just have the time ^^ -
No... he read "a lot of books" on it.
I am buying a zune!!!!
