Alrighty, after extensive research into the matter, I've deduced that the Asus Xonar U3 is the best choice for gamers like me correct?

Creative Labs just seems to have too many problems to be worth the hassle...

However, are there any other sound cards out there around that price... *points to the Xonar thingy* ...that are comparable in performance. Driver support included with that performance matching.

You should consider Creative Soundblaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro ( here), this product (same price as the your ASUS Xonar) has a lot of great feedback that you should read through. Although some of the reviewers get it DOA.

I saw that, but I'm still skeptical about the Creative Labs sound cards after the trouble their Titanium Fatal1ty was in my old desktop. @_@

    Without getting too technical:

    Xonar U3: NO!

    X-Fi: Great choice for CMSS-3D

FiiO E7&E9 Combo: Another excellent choice. Morely for the Dolby end of things, but still function great while gaming.

Astro Gaming Mixamp: Great reviews. Never used it myself. (Haven't felt like spending $130 on it.) Have a lot of people using it on PC's/PS3's.
