normally coolers suck air out from the backside chassis of the laptop....

but in my laptop..i realise..the RAM area was getting heated.

so i re-wired my cheap generic cooler...to push air towards the chassis.

    and now its working better...

because main idea of cooling is circulation....and not direction

For anyone who is thinking to do the same – make sure that your notebook wont start soaking dust like a vacuum cleaner after you do so. It needs to be hermetic (not sure how to say it).

You can eliminate dust by either active air ionizer or by using special electro-static surface bulb. I know one of the doctors at hospital was using it and it was "awesome" - there was no dust around but the bulb looked like a Dust-bunny.

Both are active solutions thou, so they require additional power. The Ionizer lasts long and has minimal maintenance, on the other hand, the bulb is conventional so its prone to break after time.

Or just buy a canned air and dust it out every 2-3 weeks and you are good to go with just that, cheap, passive but requires a lil' effort. =)

but if the cooler blows air "in", and the notebook fan blows air "out", won't that produce either:

    a) less circulation, and probable more laptop fan usage, or

    b) a time-space continuum paradox, instantly producing a black hole in you living room ?
