Hey all, I accidently dropped the 9-cell battery of my Dell Inspiron 1520, now there is a little piece chipped off and a slight crack :( , in the heat of the moment, I glued it back on using super glue, it works perfectly :) , but my worry is whether my uninformed act of gluing it back will void my warranty?

Your computer warranty shouldn't be voided because of the battery. That being said, I would definitely buy a new battery.

I would definitely keep the battery until my laptop gets damaged..

    ;) ...just kidding ...

You should buy an extra battery next month... as a backup!

We want to make sure you are still with us next month. :)

Please buy another battery. If the casing is what is chipped, chances are you will be fine, but you never know what could get inside and react.

man get a new battery, its dangerous to use a cracked battery....might blow up or something and injure you plus very likely damage or destroy your laptop.

The hook on my thinkpad x61 8-cell battery broke off and though it still works, i plan on buying a new battery anyway.

Thanks all for the advice, but seeing as in how I'm in a little money crunch and that the laptop is quite new(1 and a 1/2 months) it will be pretty difficult to get a new one(since I'll have to tell my folks about it and they'll kill me and my sister(who actually dropped it)). I guess I'll wait the one month like nocturnal said, perhaps 2 or more since I never really use the battery.

Well thanks all, for helping me out with this.

PS..Anyone else know much about battery being covered in the complete cover? Coz if it is then maybe I can ask for a new one(Can I???? I hope I can :D)
