I have an older DV video camera that transfers videos from tape to computer via firewire. Is there a firewire to usb converter I can you on my dell so I can get the videos of my son onto my computer?

I'm not aware of a device that can properly convert Firewire to USB. It might be easier to plug the tape into a player and use a composite/component to USB device to capture the video.

A capture card might also be usable, cameras from that era already have composite or component out.
