Nice to have some extra buttons, but I think they took a good idea and then ran off the cliff with it. 12 buttons by your thumb? GL hitting the right one if you actually bind them all to different things.

Plus as usual I am sure it will be incredibly overpriced for what it is.

LOL, my 'man-hands' would probably mash all those buttons at once.

However, I can see the use within the MMO crowd, as I've seen people have dedicated keyboards just for macros/functions.

    I'm leaning towards LSD....

As for darth, I think you can actually program the buttons for multple MMORPGs, so one can have one program set, one can have another, etc. That is with the onboard memory you can now not only store dpi and polling profiles, but also for each game, 12 different macrofunctions per game, up to 5 games.

i don't care about MMO's. I play real time strategy like starcraft, bfme2, etc. In these games, you control groups by hotkeying by hitting "ctrl" + "a number". This mouse might make doing this 1000x easier. Just hit "ctrl" and then click any of those numbered buttons.

It all depends on how razer programmed those number buttons

You can set whatever macro you want so I would think "Ctrl + 1" etc is easily doable.

Let's see... as noted, control groups in RTS, macros in MMOs, quicker gun selection in FPS... hell, for a lappy without a numpad like my R500, I could see using those as straight number buttons when working in desktop/office apps. If the keys aren't so small and difficult to isolate when tapping and are ergo to use, I would say they were smoking something that results in excessive brillaince.

9 buttons is just not enough.

haha lachesis i heard isnt that good. really its neither there no here anymore. It used to be the "mouse with 9 buttons" and ppl loved it cuz of that. now a 17 one is out and the lacheis should be obsolete.

The Lachesis has plenty of buttons, but its ambidextrous design makes it lose points in my book. With this thing, they definitely pack a lot of buttons in a right-handed mouse.

I'm still happy with my DeathAdder, though. :p

Most gamers will tend to avoid binding keys that far away from the WASD cluster. 4 is the highest number key I have anything bound to in any game except Oblivion which goes to 8. The number row for me is usually for switching weapons in FPS games, which I can scroll through with the mouse wheel anyway.

I'm sure the RTS and RPG gamers will get some good use out of this, although if it were up to me, I would get a dedicated gameboard like the Logitech G13, which has a plethora of macro keys within a fingertip's reach of WASD, and a "normal" mouse like the DeathAdder, Mamba, or G9X.

Well if your going to glance at your mouse every time to make sure you are clicking the right button, that defeats the whole purpose of having these keys the first place. And if you press the wrong macro key that might even turn out worst. I think its bad idea to bunch up that many keys in a confined area

Im sure you can get accustomed to this mouse eventually, i just dont think it will work out for most people. They could have instead made an improved version of the Lachesis or whatnot

that is a pretty whacky design. i don't game as "hardcore" anymore, but i can see how this mouse would give the user some advantages if it works as advertised.

Aw, come on. Let's not start that by stereotyping people that play WoW (or really, any MMO for that matter) as having no lives. For every MMO player out there, I'm sure that there are plenty who play in moderation and don't use WoW as a crutch for a faux social life.

No, this was made for WoW:

so, i didnt read all the posts to see if this was already in, but as being a massive multi-table online poker player, i LOVE the idea of a number pad on my mouse to put in bets more effectively...
