So I have been a long time Razer Naga user ever since the OG blue version way back in early 2010. I currently still have 2x 2012 versions that mostly work and have been in use since I got them new in 2012 and 2013 respectively. But both seem to suffer from cursor wobble with any vibration on the desk, and the scroll wheel on both have become quite wonky and the buttons on the side weren't engaging 100% affecting my gaming experience/performance. Being the filthy casual that I am currently raiding in a heroic progression guild in WoW legion I needed to up my game and consistency so I went out a shopped for a new mouse.
While I originally just wanted to get a new razer, and the mechanical version appealed greatly since Im a blackwidow ultimate user, I thought Id branch out and see what was out there on the recommendation of guildies and friends. So ultimately I decided on the logitech G600. I have to admit when I first got it I was thoroughly impressed, and then instantly worried about the layout of the thumbpad and third mouse button. First night of raiding and it wasn't all that great, although performance did improve as the night went on. I had a lot of misclicks and I pressed the 3rd mouse button often which was bound to ALT a big modifier I use. I was worried this would have to be returned due to this but I pressed on...and Im glad I did! As of last night, my second raid night and 2nd day of using it for work and personal use it almost felt like "riding a bike" and by the end of the night I was in love!
Some pros(mostly compared to my naga years):
-More Customization and options than the Naga
-Better quality than naga
-Fingerprint free!!!
Some cons(again mostly compared to the naga):
-Doesnt work right out of the box liek the naga and needed to have the software configured
-Decent muscle memory re-learning curve for naga users
-Only has 3 mouse clicks where the naga had alot more (easier for keybinding in wow)
All in all Im glad I made this choice, and while Im no logitech or razer fanboy I can say they both make very nice products, and will likely stick with logitech from now on so long as the quality remains the same. While the thumbpad on the 2014 naga does feel better and more familiar, the overall quality and functionality as well as the price of the G600 trump the razer product. Time will tell if it handles the abuse like my razer nagas have.
