Basically I got some good feedback on stereo headphones... but what I'm really looking for is a good Headset... I'm willing to pay 100 maybe more if it is really good... I'd prefer to have a surround sound non USB head set... I'll be using it in conjunction with my M17x.... any ideas?

Surround sound headphones are a marketing gimmick. You will get better quality for your money out of normal headphones, then you can get a mic that can clip onto them.

Like the A700 and the Zalman clip on Mic... alright... but how is it that surround sound in head phones doesn't work? Obviously normal speaker surround sound works, and it would seem like the placement of speakers behind your ear, in front of your ear and directly over your ear would be a able to simulate it to a certain degree no?

No believe me Vicious I am seriously considering those 700's and the Zalman mike.... but I've also been hearing about some actual surround sound speakers here as well... rivaling surround speakers

SOuround speakers are crap, don't get them...

    THink about it...

If i make headphone A and headphone B both are going to be on the market for $150, and it costs me $50 to make them.

    Headphone A has 2 speakers, while B has 6
I will then use $25 speakers in headphone A
But Headphone B will use $8 speakers.

So. the obviously, headphone A will be better.

    Does this make sense?

The headphones aren't big enough for them to actually get behind your ear, they're still just right there on the outside of your ear. And with these 'surround sound' headphones your buying them from people like logitech who specialize in marketing, not in actually building a good set of headphones. Where as you go with AGK, Grado, Sennheiser, Ultrasone, Beyerdynamic, or any other headphone brand, your buying into a company's specialty, not just their marketing like you would be with one of these gaming headphones.
