Sometime ago I bought Dell D800 Laptop. After using it for a while I broken my power supply adapter. It was indicating 90W on the box of adapter. I went to shop and bought universal power adapter (travel adapter) for my laptop. After hooking it up i booted my computer and got message stating something like "your computer cannot recognise power source, which will prevent it to run in performance mode" and blablabla. Finally after testing i figured out that my laptop running at 600Mhz speed, and my batteries depleted soon, and i cannot even recharge them. Pls help me to find any workaround or hack to put my computer back into 1600Mhz mode. Any tricks and advices would be welcome. Thx

Well, if the adapter you have is not outputting enough power, you won't be able to run at full speed and could damage your machine if you try to force it. Look for the iGo 90. It's a universal adapter for notebooks, cell phones, and PDAs. The latest model outputs 90 watts. It's a great device as it also includes adapters for auto and air.

Right, you probably bought a 60 or 70W adaptor.
