I have Photoshop and GIMP on my laptop but I don't want to buy a drawing tablet. I got to thinking about why laptop touchpads don't work with a stylus. Then I got to thinking that if I attached something to the end of a pen that simulated a human finger, I could use it like a drawing tablet. This would also be handy for signing documents on your computer.

Any suggestions? Preferably I don't want to spend any money. I just want to conjure up some house hold items.

Cut off one or more of your fingers off (if you screw up, you have extras), then carve a finger down to the size of a pencil. SHOULD work.. Alternatively, buy a tablet, they are uber cool and less painful.

Guys, Forum Rules. Read them, please.

You need something with capacitance and charge, and it has to have a relatively large surface area. You can try a spoon, but it won't work well. There's a reason why you don't use touchpads like tablets.

    Sorry, won't happen again.

But seriously, is a tablet out of budget for you? Because if it is, there isn't much you can do, touchpads just don't have that kind of accuracy(writing signatures etc).

Oh and i have CS3 and GIMP, I don't have a tablet(yet). But I'm guessing now that this thread was a 'I wonder..' thread instead of a 'can some one help me with...'.
