When I ordered my laptop (Dell Vostro 1500) I went without a webcam to save money. I'd like to add one, but I can't find anywhere that sells them.

Does anybody know where to find them?

    List of places I've tried
    • Google
    • Dell
    • eBay

I'm looking for an internal, built-in, OEM part, webcam. Not a USB or any other external-type device. Sorry for the confusion.

I suggest trying ebay, and search for the lid for the Vostro 1500, screen for the 1500 or bezel for the 1500. One of those searches may net you a lid that has the integrated webcam in it, or a complete screen plastics assembly that has the webcam, or simply just a bezel that surrounds the LCD with integrated webcam. Good luck! That's the beauty of ebay and Dell. You can find Dell parts ALL OVER ebay fairly easily!

I am assuming you're looking for the OEM stock webcam that is integrated and built into the lid of your laptop, right? Not just a seperate one as others mentioned

You'd really think so, but there's a surprising dearth of Vostro 1500 / Inspiron 1520 webcams and/or bezels (of any kind, really).

The best I've found is a top cover for an XPS M1210 with a webcam; would that fit?

No! You have to find a part that was pulled from another 1500/1520.
