So I recently got a Razer Copperhead. It is indeed quite sweet.
But they strongly advised getting a good mousepad for it!
I was wondering if they just want more of my money or if it is good to have a mouse pad instead of just my desk...
Thanks in advance for your wonderful input!

A good mouse pad is nice. It'll keep you from wearing off the finish on your desk, especially since you more than likely got it as a gaming mouse. I personally keep a flimsy $2 mousepad from Target with my laptop, and a nicer one at home.

Definitely get a mousepad with that mouse, don't use your desk surface; they perform best on a pad. Razer's own mats are excellent (but very big in size, make sure you measure), or look at something fUnc has - I recommend the Surface 1030.

Thanks! I was planning on getting a pad, then I was like, why don't I see what they say on notebook review (since my laptop and other accessories I got based off of reveiws and suggestions here...) so it's good to see I was going in the right direction!
