I have absolutely no notion of experience when it comes to TVs so I'm looking for some help.

I'm looking to buy a decent TV, around 250$-300$.

I know it's not too much, but I don't need a lot for my room/college.

Any advice or anything, please don't hesitate :D

A tv for what purpose, what sizes are you looking for, what type, LCD, DLP, plasma etc. Flat screen doesn't mean anything since all screens are made flat since 2004ish, a DLP HDTV is considered a flat screen even though they have a foot in width. I take it you mean a thin LCD or plasma, something you can hang on a wall.

Well plasmas are more than double your budget, and the largest LCD with a tv tuner and normal TV inputs would be about 22" for that budget so I don't think your going to get what you intend.

Now if your talking about computer LCD's with no TV tuner than you can get something much better for even less.

I have a 22 inch monitor right now as my external for my laptop.

I'm thinking this size would be fine.

you can look out for the Samung ToC Series (22-26")... amazon (last month) had a 22" under $250 and a 24" under $300
