There is several bags that have been used. We just did a review on the Kensington Contour Pro 17in. This one is great if you want to carry accessories or folders for business/school. In my opinion it gets a little too heavy if you are wanting to carry big books like for college.

If you want just a messenger type with no room for accessories, there are two popular choices. One is the PowerSleeve XL from Booq.com.

Another one is the Tekmod XL which is available at RadTech or Tekstyl (cheaper on ebags.com). I use the one that is available from Tekstyl. I think it is a great bag, but it is a tight fit.

I got the deluxe large Dell backpack or whatever it's called with my 9300, it was a 39 dollar option I believe and it's an awesome backpack, way beter than I expected. I can post some pics of it later if you want...I assume you can buy it from Dell as an accessory.

I have the Dell Mobile Edge Deluxe designed for the 9300, and I don't like it because my 6000 is a bit small for the pack. I'm looking to sell it at cost, so $30 + shipping, if you're interested.

I have this bag, too. It's great for my XPS Gen2. I had a *hard* time finding it on Dell's site. I had originally wanted to order the "Gen 2" backpack that is an option with the order, but it wasn't available any other way. At least, Dell Customer support couldn't find it -- I even had the part number. Well, because the couldn't help me, I got $50 off, so I can't complain too much.

It's big, but it doesn't have any really good places to hold papers and such. I'm coming from a more normal leather brief case style bag that I used with my 8100.

I really like the hardened corners under the bottom of the internal padded sleeve. In addition, the areas outside the sleeve are also padded, giving the laptop really good protection. In fact, it would probably hold a second laptop without much trouble.

Thanks for the links, SG. A lot of coworkers have 17" laptops and are always wondering what sort of bag will work with them and backpacks just aren't for everyone.
