So I'm looking at these 3 monitors. Anybody have any input on the differences between them? Better, worse?

U2414H Inch LED monitor - Widescreen 60Hz Monitor : Parts & Upgrades | Dell Canada

LG 23" Widescreen LED IPS Monitor With 5ms Response Time (23MP75HM-P.AUS) : 23-24 Inch Monitors - Best Buy Canada

Samsung 24" LED Monitor With 5ms Response Time (LS24D590PL/ZC) - Black : 23-24 Inch Monitors - Best Buy Canada

They're close enough in price that either is fine. I'm trying to stick to buying from a big store (Dell, Best Buy, etc) so I can return it if I don't like it.

    And yes, I'm in Canada.

Any reason you're going 23-24"? A 27" would be much better, now. And when you trade up for another one. I have the Dell 27". Otherwise, I'd choose the Dell.

I like the pixel density on the 24".

And the 24" can be almost 50% cheaper than the 27".

I have the Dell U2414H to replace my broken LG IPS monitor and so far its been great. The general design is very clean, the panel uses AH-IPS technology and response times does seem to be slightly quicker than the old LG screen I had for gaming. But I bought it mainly due to the 3 year warranty and "Premium Panel Guarantee" they offer in which they would give you a no hassle replacement should there be a single dead pixel on the screen.

However do note that the U2414H only has DP and HDMI ports, it doesn't have VGA or DVI ports (though the latter can be converted with the right HDMI cable) so be sure your notebook or desktop can support these outputs.

Of course the two aforementioned ports are now obsolete. However, if you insist on continuing to use them, the DVI can be modified with a simple inexpensive adapter. And the VGA with a converter (more expensive).

I'm not so sure that I'd classify VGA as "obsolete" having seen one too many corporate settings where it is the only option even nowadays...

They was once all there was and proliferated for a long time so vestiges of them will continue for a while longer. Even so, I guess I should be more specific: they don't make them (nor DVI) anymore.

    At 27", you are either getting a 1080p or a 1440p display.

1080p at 27" looks horrible due to low pixel density.

1440p at 27" isn't ideal, since most laptops do not support the required DisplayPort, dual-link DVI, or HDMI 1.3 to output 1440p. Typically, only higher-end desktop replacement laptops will have one of these output connections to support 1440p.

Additionally, 1440p resolution will crush most laptop GPUs. Don't expect a laptop GPU to support gaming at 1440p resolution, due to the amount of horsepower needed to push that many pixels.

Actually, there's nothing wrong with the resolution I just wouldn't call it stellar.

I do, and the picture is fantastic.

I ran a Heaven benchmark at that resolution and the picture is just gorgeous. But you're correct about gaming, at that resolution frame rate is way to slow.

    Hey everyone!
I want a triple screen set up.
I really love those screens: LG IPS237L-BN 23 vs LG 23EA63V-P, but do u guys know which screen is 'the best' because the only difference between those two screens I could find was the contrast ratio. (LG 23EA63V-P CR: 10.000.000:1) (LG IPS237L-BN 23 CR: 5.000.000:1)
I know the bezel is not 2mm...but 11mm. I think this is still the most elegant and beautiful screen for a nice price tag.
So which do u prefer: LG IPS237L-BN 23 vs LG 23EA63V-P
