    Hi guys,
I just broke my Logitech cordless notebook mouse :( So I guess its time to get a new one. Any recommendations? My main uses is gaming and internet browsing, but mostly gaming.

Second, my laptop doesn't have a fingerprint scanner built in, can anyone recommend a laptop friendly fingerprint scanner? something that can be attached (adhesive or something).

    Thanks in advance :)

Have no mouse company prefrence at all I will check out microsoft's lineup unless someone can recommend something else?

"Do you really like the fingerprint scanner?"
Never had one but the concept appeals to me, no need for passwords and the cool factor ;)

For desktop, I use logitech MX1000

For laptop, I use Logitech V270 (came with my W3J... branded ASUS :))

Some fingerprint scanners dont even work sometimes, and even though thats the ultimate security system, random numbers and letters are for me right now.

Since you have BT, the v270 is the best bet for a mouse.

Ok we agree on the ultimate security system part :) and since some don't work which ones work? ;)

I had a BT mouse like 3 years ago had an awefull experince with it, slow response time and problems connecting. Don't know if today's BT mice have improved since then?

If you dont like BT, the v200 mouse is a good option for wireless then. You can get them farily cheap, and even though you connect a usb dongle to use it, I really love this mouse(plugin and BOOM works).

The scanners sometimes dont work because the reader doesnt read the fingerprint that well. There is one that reads your veins in your fingers(oooh) but, im not sure about that one.

May I second the reccomendation for a MX1000. I don't get the whole "laptop mouse" thing -- they're too small to be comfortable to hold. Get a nice, chunky, ergonomic mouse.

    1. yes, don't buy into the concept of a "notebook" mouse. your hand doesn't instantly become smaller because you happen to be using a notebook. get a normal sized mouse.

    2. before you drop $ on a fingerprint reader (especially one that isn't built in to the computer) you should do some more research. most of what i've read said the tech isn't there yet and ends up being more frustrating for the user than not. also, if it's not built in you have to ask yourself if you're really going to carry that thing around and plug it in all the time? i'll bet after a week you throw the thing in the trash.

Thanks for all the input guys, I just ordered the microsoft fingerprint scanner for my desktop. I will try out and maybe later in the year there might be something out for laptops.
One comment I got regarding the mouse is the
"don't buy into the concept of a "notebook" mouse. your hand doesn't instantly become smaller because you happen to be using a notebook."

Although I have a regular sized mouse for my desktop, the benefits I see for a "notebook mouse" is the size and the ease of transporting the thing. See I carry my laptop all over the place and placing a regular sized mouse in my carrying case has always been a pain.

    "Booyah Compal HEL80...
    built in fingerprint scanner ftw"
Yes thats an amazing feature but had to go for the Asus for the graphics card :)
