I am looking into getting a laptop lock/chain to secure my laptop while I am in college. I realize it's still accessible to theft but, I would like it to make it a lot harder for the thief if there were to ever be one. Most kids are looking for easy stuff anyway. Grab and run sort of items. Anyway, looking for quality here and nothing to large/chunky. I don't want it stick out like a sore thumb. :p

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    What laptop do you have?
Does it have a "hole" for a Kengsinton lock? Or any other lock?

then you can get a Kensington lock
obviously, these can be cut, but then again: every lock with a cable can be cut :)

they're pretty good for saying "look, i'm secured, go find an unsecured one, that's easier to steal" :)

I have a Kensington lock system with a Targus lock that has a vibration sensor. Try to move it and it is ear splitting.

I think it's faster to cut it, than to start fiddling with a pen.
Point is, that if you have the choice between an unprotected laptop and a protected one, you'll go for the unprotected one, no matter how easy the protection is.

Yeah, I just want it to make it somewhat harder for a thief. Make them at least work for it. I'll look into Kensington lock. If anyone else has any other suggestions please, pitch in. :)
