    howdy,

I have rencently purchased my lappy - now i need some goddamn sound! speakers!

Im poor as hell so ive been considering a 2.1 set-up; either the Logitech R20 stereo setup OR the logitech X-230 setup.

    Im undecided.

The former is cheaper (NZD60) compared to the latter (NZD100).

Anyone used/own/heard either of these two setups? Other suggestions?

Im looking for an affordable complete soultion... games (lots)... dvds (few)... music (plenty)...

    Appreciate the help!

    AL

    Hey another New Zealander!

Logitech is a brand with a really good reputation and you will be sweet either way.

    go with JBL Duets.

thats what i'm gonna buy if i were to after basic pc speaker.

you don't need the subwoofer, if you dont watch movie a lot. believe me this is the one to get. as of now, all my pc speaker dont have subwoofer.

    edit:
now, now, don't say that, if you still have computer, and can still buy stuff you're not even close to being poor. :)

not to mention you still game, watch DVD and listen to music ;)

Get a digital amplifier since they offer better quality from a digital source and also offer much greater efficiency than an analog amplifier.
Does your laptop have S/PDIF output? If not, you'll have to use an external sound card to get S/PDIF output.
