I was looking at getting this stand for my Inspiron 9300.
Kensington Laptop Desktop USB Notebook Stand - 60148
    http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=10376380&loc=101&sp=1

Does anyone have any opinions on it? Will it even adequately hold the 9300 even though it says it's for laptops 16" or smaller?

Any other stands that would work better?

We're actually going to be posting a review of the latest model from Kensington in the next week.

Hey I've been reviewing this item, and am just putting the finishing touches on it.
For the most part the features are very nice, extra usb ports, 5.1 audio, paper holder, raising of the laptop screen.
There are is one design flaw in my opinion of it, but it just requires you to be careful.
The under side of the top part is not smooth, and thus you can catch your keys on it when you pull it out if you don't do it just right. I did this and ripped off my windows key, but luckily I could just push it back on. I think that this is an oversight on their part, but other than that its pretty good.

Again there will be a full review posted here once I finish up with the photos of it.

Cool, thanks! Do you think it will work okay with the wide Inspiron 9300. I get conflicting answers from Dell (yes) and Kensington (no). Or maybe the one you are reviewing is not even released yet...

What we have is not yet released. It's my understanding that it will take the 9300 without issue.

The only problem I could possibly forsee is that it may not be thick enough opening for the 9300, but it is flexible so it may open up enough without a problem.

Let me know what the thickness is of the lower half (keyboard and down) and I'll take a measuring tape to it, to see if it'll open up wide enough.

I'd say it's just about 1.1875" from keyboard down. That includes just under 0.125" standoff for the feet.

Just wondering how the review is coming along... Looks like the new model number will be #60702 and the Kensington webpage says it will be compatible with all Dell Inspiron laptops.
http://www.kensington.com/html/6459.html Retails for $149.99... that's steep for a dock though...

When you order from dell it is an option on the 6000 but not the 9300 so It probably isn't the best idea but it probably will work.
