I am going to be picking up a laptop, and i'm abit of a newbie when it comes to Bluetooth. I know the basics, but the laptop I'm buying has the option for $45 USD to get an internal bluetooth card. Well, I will want wireless bluetooth accessories, keyboard and mouse, maybe a headset, in the future but not right now.
Is it worth it to get the card? Or can i just get something external later that could be cheaper.

    Thanks for any advice!

If I were you, I'd get built-in Bluetooth, even for just the sake of keeping it "future-safe." It's well worth the $50 if you think you'll use it. If not, maybe you shouldn't.

It's worth getting it if you will be using it alot - i've seen external bluetooth cards for around $20, but personally i would pay the extra $25 just to not have something sticking out of my laptop.

    Internal Bluetooth is much better.

It's one less thing sticking out of your laptop, which means 1 free USB Port, and 1 less thing to lose :)

I agreed w/ others. Go for the internal. Since its alittle bit annoying to have kept pulling it in or out while traveling.

I'm coming from a different perspective on this. It deals with what you want to do with your bluetooth device. I use my Dell 355 internal bluetooth for all my basic things, but I just my Bluetake dongle for all my highend stuff (A2DP, heavy file transfer, etc). The Bluetake's "BlueSoleil" software is great for that type of high end stuff.
