    hey

i just received my inivisbleshielf today for my HP Pavilion 2700, it took some time to install but all went ok until the scratch test I did... :( Now the invisibleshield truly protects the laptop from scratches, but the plastic itself gets scratched easily. The test that I did was simply done by using my fingernails which shouldnt even scratch the laptop itself. Anyways here is a screenshot:

NOTE: these scratches are from the invisibleshielf itself not the laptop, when I remove part of the shield the scratches disappear.

Now I heard the invisibleshield regenerates itself, but I dont believe those scratches r going to disappear...

    Hi.

I suggest you contact Invisibleshield if the marks are permanent and cannot be cleaned off as it has a lifetime guarantee.

I have never heard about the self-healing!

    Regards

    John.

What did you use to scratch it?
From my experience (with bse, which is similar if not the same exact thing, on my MP3 player) that's not so easy to do.

So after wiping it with some cleaner or even water, the scratch is still there? Hard to believe. I have a similar product (BSE) on my Creative ZVM screen for two years now. I put it in my pocket all the time. Not noticeable scratches.

I tried wiping it with water and cleaning chemicals but no use the scratches wont go... whats ironic is that it dosen't get scratched with my keys

    So whats the point of InvisibleShield if it gets scratched... with... my f i n g e r n a i l s?!

.... I just removed the damn thing and my laptop is as good as new.. I replaced it with the plastic cover that came with HP atleast it wont get scratched with my fingernails

i've had the same problem with invisible shields on other products. I ordered a few for my zune, psp, and cell. Now, the one for the cell went on great and worked just fine, including some bits of "regenerating" even (sometimes i'd notice a nick or some bump in the protector, which would go away after several days.)

Now, the one for the zune.... didn't go on so well, and that's where I noticed that you can "stretch" the protector too far if you're not careful during the removal process. However, I ran into the scratch problem when I was putting it on the PSP. It's the same exact type of broad "scratch" in your pics, and the ironic thing is it was caused by the soft plastic applicator that they include to smooth out the bubble, of all things :/

TBH it's not so much a scratch as a.... well, I don't know what to call it, a mark? But I was unable to clean that off my PSP protector as well :(

Atleast the scratches are on the shield and not the product that is sort of the point of it.
