Hey there everybody. I've been far too long without an mp3 player, and I have certain events coming in the near future where an mp3/video player would be handy to have. Although reluctant to, I was considering the 32 GB iPod Touch as the only mp3 player I've ever owned (although a long time ago) was an iPod and with a larger size than the previous models there would be room for the occasional video or two to watch when I need to kill a little time.
The only drawback in regards to video was the supported video types, and doing a little fiddling on google I came across the Zen Vision W. It comes in 30 GB or even 60 GB so I'm sure I will never run out of space, and the Zen Vision W seems to support the video types that I use since they are always usually XviD or Divx so the chances I'd need to convert my videos is alot less. Even still, I know very little about mp3 players nowadays so there maybe another ideal product out there. So for someone seeking something with alot of room for music and the occasional video or movie, does the Zen Vision W look like a good idea, or do you recommend another?

The Zune and Samsung P2 are other options to look at.

I own the ZVW and a Cowon A2, and a Cowon A3. Out of those three I think the A2 was my favorite, but you cannot get it anymore. But the A3 is the same thing as the A2, except better screen and a MUCH faster processor. For codec support the A3 surpasses the ZVW. It also has very good sound quality, better than the ZVW, not that the ZVW has bad sound quality, it just isn't as good as the A3. One really nice feature of the ZVW though, is you can get a remote for it, which I find to be very useful.
Heres a compare between the three, I added the touch also.

If your willing to go with a smaller screen size then I'd highly recommend the Cowon D2, its a very impressive player in every way. -
Iceman0124 More news from nowhere
I had a zen vision M30, it was a good player when it worked, after a few months of normal use it started acting up, randomly shutting down and refusing to power back up, hard locking and sometimes the hard rest would work, sometimes it wouldnt. Lucky for me it was a gift, and the buyer also bought the extended warranty, initially I was just going to try another but they were already taken off the market, (creative labs no longer produced hard drive based media players, they are strictly flash based now, the ones you find now are either refurbs or old stock that hasnt sold) I ended up getting a zune 30, which I disliked the software, but loved the player, I quickly returned it though as the launch of the zune 80 was about a month away, got a credit, and purchased the 80 when it came out last november, I use it daily and absolutely love it.

Thanks for the heads up, that Cowon A3 looks really nice. Was reading around a bit and people are making the little joystick controller out to be a nightmare. Since you own one Syndrome could you care to elaborate? Also, has anyone heard much about the Cowon Q5W?

Yeah, if I had to pick one thing about the A3 that I didn't like then it would be the joystick, but after I've had it for a couple of days I've gotten used to it and its not so bad for me, but when one of my friends uses it then they have a hard time getting it to press down correctly, it just takes them a few tries. I personally wouldn't let that stop me from getting it though.
Yeah, they Q5W looks really nice, its got GPS also, which is nice if you have a car. I've seen mods where you can hook a PS1 controller to it and play SNES games on it, but thats getting a bit heavy into the homebrew. I don't have the Q5W nor have I seen one in person so I can't really say much about it.
Is Zen Vision W the right one for me, is there another?
