So I have this Toshiba 8GB thumb drive I bought over the summer. Used it once and left it in my room.
The other day I tried to make a boot-able install disk for my mac, and formatted it etc..When I couldn't figure out how to make the back-up disk I tried ejecting it, but it said it was still in-use (did this a few times) and out of pure rage I just pulled it out of my computer.
Problem.
Now when I plug it in my mac it won't even detect it! And when I plug it in desktop it'll detect it but when I try to open it/format it it'll say " Please insert a disk into drive F:".
Did I kill it?![]()

If you formatted your Flash drive, youll need to download software to extract it

Huh? What software?

i just did a lab on this in school today, and we used a program was pretty expensive. But there are some good free software sites out there. I just found this one, i never used it but what it says it does should work.

Thx but I don't need to recover the files on the drive rather the flash drive simply does not work. It won't detect in OS X, and in Windows XP it is detected, but when I try to open it it says "please insert disk and retry". I should also note that the drive was formatted on my mac as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Is my USB drive dead?
