A family member got one as Christmas gift.

Not sure about how good it is as far as cooling, but it serves as a good notebook holder/placer.

    cheers ...

No. It's not a good cooler. For a few dollars more, you can get something better.

    Also, never trust CNET.

If you read the amazon review you will see the product get hammered. It seems there is a design mistake as the fans stop working after a while...

In most cases, simply lifting the back end of your notebook up will enable better cooling. Don't waste money on a cooling pad unless you're into overclocking.

I have one. Doesn't really work well as far as cooling goes, but I use it as a table for my laptop when I am in bed. After a few months, it gets really loud, and just recently I broke it. lol.

Based off of belkin's reputation and the way that cooler looks, it seems like its an overpriced POS; a single fan for $20-30; complete and udder ripoff

As a notebook stand for on-the-go situations im not arguing, but at home it seems completely useless + overpriced

    Reven,

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=304671

Generally, the NXZT Cryo-LX (and probably Cryo-S by extension), the Zalman NC-2000 and to some extent the Notepal Infinite seem to get the best 'results' as posted by forum members.

Lol. Soviet beat me by a few seconds!

Exactly as Soviet Sunrise has linked to; you should check out the notebook cooler guide or search around if you wanna find some good recommendations/thoughts on certain coolers
