I recently bought the G7 cause I thought it was awesome and I wanted it for gaming. However, the general consenus I'm getting is that wireless mice suck for gaming...
My question is... is that statement the result of other wireless mice... like the MX1000? Or have gamers actually compared the G7 to a wired gaming mouse and seen a real difference?
Thanks

I can't speak for the G7, but I use the MX1000 for gaming all the time and I have never noticed any difference in performance from a wired mouse. There's no lag or delay or anything. It responds smoothly. The only downside is if you're in the middle of a game and your battery needs a charge.

Not sure, but the dual laser tracking for the G5(G7 has same) is awesome!

I started using wireless mouse with the logitech mx700 and it was solid (optical) even though it did unfortunately use batteries (rechargable though) the G7 is awesome IMO what with its lithium ion batteries and the laser engine and my god its wonderful. I'm buying one soon, need a new laptop to go with it but can't for a few more years

Wireless DID suck for gaming until the high DPI logitech mx700 came out, and followed by MX1000 and then G7. They are now completely the same as wired.
The only thing that sucked for gaming with it, is when you forget to charge the mouse. -
Once upon a time, wireless mouse and keyboards couldn't keep up perfectly with fairly fast input. I've used the G7, and it plays beautifully. Even the keyboard I used doesn't choke until you hit 150 WPM, and I don't know anyone who can type that fast (I type 65, and it worked fine).

let me just say that my Wireless MS Laser Mouse 6000 has so much more resonse and sensitivity than my older intellimouse explorer 4.0.
From what i have heard, the G7 performs just as well as the wired G5, except it doesn't have the **** wire that is so annoying.
please keep in mind the G7 is turqoise ^_^ -
Yup, as others have said, the G7 in every bit as good as a wired mouse, and it doesn't have the wire getting in your way. I have one, and it's a great mouse.
Also keep in mind, that circa STILL has no idea what he's talking about, and thinks dark green=turqoise!! -
If you've seen the over-lit picture from Logitech's website, you will know why Circa calls it turqoise.
-
hey don't blaim me for Logitech's crappy photographers ^_^ are you hiring logitech? even if it is overlit, there is a posibility that the G7 could look like that at somepoint with the same lighting or whatnot, and that just wouldn't fly with me, if i had it on my desk and the lights got super bright all of a sudden and i saw how bloody turqoise it was i would probably have to assault it.
but who agrees that the G7 would benefit from a better color choice? just a simple silver or black would be magnificent, i am thinking a G7 with a color sceme of a MS Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. huh? huh? yeah that's what it thought.
and why bloody hell hasn't anyone made a Carbon Fiber laser mouse already? lazy hardware R&D jerks, get your act together.
dark turqoise is still turqoise -
The G5's wire isn't that anoying
-
Thats the one thing I hate is the **** color! Gray/silver and black are much better colors (mixed also)

If the G7 looked like the G5, I woulda been sold LONG time ago

i love the mx1000 i have perfect for gaming.. and in terms of desktop wise ill prefer logitech over microsoft solely because why?
Chargable dock base. Cant beat that.
The mx1000 is great but the g7 is cooler because of the spare battery. I remember twice my mouse ran out of batteries while gaming and i had to steal my bro's mouse
One problem is that the g7 color i do not like that much. I prefer the darker tones of the mx1000.
Is the G7 really that bad for gaming?
