What do you think about the Kensington MicroSaver DS Notebook Lock? Kensington claims it is the most secure lock on the market.

I voted "yes" as long as you're willing to spend that extra $25. I own one and it is definitely more intimidating than most other locks due to its thickness. It also uses a flat lock as opposed to a barrel lock, which are very easy to crack.
So, if you've got the money, go for it! If not, go for the cheaper combination lock and I'd recommend you avoid barrel locks. -
I own one. Very nice. As stated, reassuring thick cable. Solid lock that I have only tested so far as shaking and pulling it. It has a fail safe which I do not wish to engage for the sake of it
Do remember these stop the opportunistic thief - if people were to come with heavy duty bolt cutters, then good luck to them
And with all due respect to expo25kr, an explanation as to why not would help the OP -
Well, a keyed or combo lock with a thick cable is definitely the way to go. The barrel locks are VERY easy to crack (not sure if I'm allowed to post it, so just youtube it). I mean.. a piece of cardboard? Come on Kensington!

With a combination lock I am concerned someone could watch me enter my combination. In a large busy library it is not easy to notice everybody and it only takes one person watching you enter your combination to steal it. I guess if I changed the combination one every other week it should prevent this, but that will be a pain in the butt. The only way someone can steal a keyed laptop is by cutting the cable or stealing the key. Even if a pick pocket steals the key, I would call him an idiot if he stole my laptop. My car key is on that ring too, steal the car genius.
Is the Kensington MicroSaver DS Notebook Lock worth $25 more than the Kensignton 4 wheel combination lock?
