I have a few of these lying around. However I don't *need* to use them since they can be gainfully employed elsewhere. I want to use three 27" WQHD monitors in either landscape or less likely in portrait in an NVSurround setup. The system will be pretty much gaming-only.

You're quite privileged to have a few of those lying around
. I'll happily take one if they're not in use
-
Theoretically, Korean off brand oc'able would be better.
Dell = thick bezel though -
Well, definitely not as thick as the touch monitors I'd been planning to use and suddenly realised when I rustled up three S2340T's to line up for a test and went 'daaaaamn'.
In what way would they be better? -

You get a WQHD IPS display at 120hz.
-
... sure it's being driven at 120hz, and not just the panel?
-
At this point, there aren't any IPS panels that operate at 120Hz refresh rate of any size. Some people have bought 60Hz IPS panels and overclocked them, some able to achieve up to 120Hz. However, like any overclocking, this isn't supported by the manufacturer, and your mileage will vary (with your own individual overclocking success).
As for the OP's questions... the Dell Ultrasharp U2713HM is a pretty rock-solid monitor. It's a 27" IPS panel, which means you get pretty good image quality. It also happens to be a monitor that is a pretty good price (although that is irrelevant to you, since you already own these monitors). There are other options, if you need to go cheaper or get professional-grade color reproduction. But otherwise, be happy with the Dell U2713HM's. -
The point of interest though was, is it being actually operated at 120hz end to end like e.g. an Asus VG278H, or is it just the panel that's being run at 120hz? i.e. Is it actually Displayport 1.2 compliant? How about other more 'mainstream' WQHD monitors?
What kind of GPU are we looking at for a 3x WQHD @ 120hz setup? (I'm assuming even my Titans will melt if only SLI'd)
Is there a better WQHD gaming monitor than the U2713HM?
