Is there any way to stop my bluetooth mouse from having a nap after a few seconds?

I have a logitech V470 and whenever I leav it more than a second or two without using it the next time I move it, it takes a while to get going and is rather jerky. Kinda like "hmmm?????.......oh yeah..... that's what I was doing" sorta thing.

Is there any way I can stop it from going to sleep or is this just something I'll have to live with?

I have the same mouse and honestly after having it for a few days I had to go looking for the problem you mentioned to find it. Doesn't really bother me. You could try adjusting sensitivity maybe. That might make it less noticeable.

All bluetooth mice will "sleep" when not used for a while, then when they are moved again they reassociate with the computer. Mine is like this as well, but it doesn't cause me any annoyance, and the reassociation is very fast. I am not sure, but see if you can install the software that came with the mouse, maybe it has a setting to increase the amount of time before the mouse goes to sleep.

How big of an issue is the Bluetooth mouse delay after using a conventional RF mouse? I've read some things that suggests it takes up to 30 seconds for a Bluetooth mouse to be operational after a laptop comes out out of sleep mode. I've also read mixed reviews on Bluetooth mouse battery life.

I have a new laptop on the way with Bluetooth built in but am wondering if a Bluetooth mouse is the right way to go or just stay with a conventional RF mouse and one of those newer "nano" USB receivers.

Really the only way you will know what you like is to try it. I would just buy a Bluetooth mouse you like locally at some store and use it. If you find you don't like it, then return it an go for a mouse with a nano receiver. I personally love the completely dongle free use of a Bluetooth mouse and I don't find the lag on reconnect a problem at all. When my machine comes out of hibernation, it takes a max of 2 seconds for my Bluetooth mouse to reconnect.

My Bluetooth mouse was always ready to go after waking the laptop from sleep. As in, I could use the mouse before I even finished putting in my password.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Based on your comments, I think I'll end up picking up a Bluetooth mouse. Even though I will have a lot of available USB ports on the new laptop, I'm interested in trying to avoid any dongle also if possible.

I don't have much 'waking-up' issues with a Microsoft Bluetooth mouse but I do find the battery life is less than half that of a RF Logitech VX Nano.
