I'm thinking about purchasing a Timbuk2 Underground Daypack and I want to know if I really need to purchase a laptop sleeve with this or is the backpack sufficient enough to protect my laptop?

the compartment where the laptop is stored should be pretty much sufficient in terms of protection. it doesn't hurt to buy a laptop sleeve for the extra protection but i wouldn't consider it a necessity...
