Is using a 180 watt adapter alright for an HDX18?

I looked around HP's site the other day after hearing people complain about the cables shorting out and having them be replaced. My current one is a 120 watt adapter, but they don't have any at that range, closest they have are 90 and 180.

Would either work? I know the 90 would probably charge the battery rather slowly while using it, but would the 180 fry something?

The 180W provides up to 180W...it does not force 180W down the computer's throat. Also, that 90W adapter may or may not be powerful enough to supply just the system with its power needs. If you only have those two choices, get the 180W.

Eh, they just added the 120 watt to the site today it seems.

I was thinking about getting the Auto/Air/AC adapter, but that one's only rated at 90, which as you said might not be enough; would be nice to take with me when I head to japan next summer though...

I should go look into it further, thanks though.
