So heres my predicament I have a set of Logitech z-5500 speakers and I need to mount them on the wall BUT I'm can't put any holes into the wall or ceiling and they can't be hanging from the ceiling.
Even worse is that my walls aren't smooth they are quite rough (they are painted brick).
Any ideas I can't I really want to mount then on the wall but i am faced with many problems.

Why can't you put holes in your walls? You could always try a large amount of velcro and see if that will hold it to the wall.

velco is good, but the glue will take the paint off the walls when its removed. i used it to hold a wifi router to the wall.

Try using a lump of blu tac, i know its mainly for posters, but in a large enough quantity it should work.

of you could use that white stuff you find on the back of stick-on hooks, but once that gets on something it is really hard to get off.

I am in the same kind of boat as you joe. I have this same speaker set and am wondering how to position them. Right now I have them on my desk and they are taking up a lot of space and are not really positioned for optimal quality. I am thinking of the stands like TInderbox recommended, so you could try that or another thing I have seen is a bunch of different products that 3M makes. They have this one thing that allows you to hang up pictures and stuff and then when you are done and want to remove it from the wall, it has a hang tab that you can pull and it will come of cleanly without damaging the wall. At least it does in the commercial
. I have never personally used it but it might be worth a shot. Here is a link to 3M's site with the adhesive products.

Here is what I would do in order.
1.) Use stands
2.) Run a bar across the room that is held in place by friction (think those pull up bars you put on a door way or some shower curtain rods) and then hang them from from the bar.
3.) Say screw it and put holes in the wall and just fix the holes before I had to leave that residence. -
Found my solution I screwed the speakers into plywood squares (5in x 5in x 3/4in). Then I took a bunch of 3M heavy duty mounting tape (double sided tape) and covered the entire back of the wooden square , and simply stuck it firmly on the wall. According to the packaging this mounting tape holds 5lbs per 4in strip, so I should have over 25lbs of holding power, but most of the weight is being pulled from the top. I also cleaned the wall with isopropyl alcohol for a pure sticking surface.
So far it has been working (2 weeks), at first I tried those 3m picture hangers and those almost fell of after a day but I was able to catch my speaker just in time. Then I tried some regular strength 3m mounting tape that lasted about 3 days. This seems to be the magic remedy, after about 45sec of using my speakers I got yelled at by an RA, I say they are a perfect addition to any drom room.
It is impossible to mount speakers on my wall!!!!!!
