Hey guys! I just got done reviewing this little gem of a notebook cooler. Made entirely of aluminum, it sports three quiet, 120mm variable speed RPM fans, four USB 2.0 ports, and superior construction. With the ability to handle laptops up to 19", this may be the last notebook cooler you ever buy.

Check out the review I wrote on it at HardwareLogic.com and let me know what you thought of it. =)

That is one mean looking cooler!
The price tag can be lower though, $75 dollars for a cooler just isn't very justifiable, perhaps if your laptop is overheating on daily basis.

    Good review, Thanks!

Nice notebook cooler. Might have to pick that up to keep in my backpack. Then I'll have the nc2000 for home use, and this one for on-the-go use.

Does this cooler blow air or suck air away from the notebook?

one of these reviews i believe has temp readings, they didnt seem too impressive: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?p=3106387#post3106387

Newegg had this for $49.99AR when I posted up those reviews, not anymore though. I was bummed to see there is no AC adapter option for this unit.

That would still have the fans running on 5V from the USB. Problem is still there.

if the fans can only be run @ 5v, then this product is not worth the price

maybe they will get smarter and release a model that can be adjusted to run at higher voltages once it gets plugged into a wall

This would be a great modders cooling pad. Even tho it had 3x 120mm fans running off of 5v usb it cant be running too fast or pushing many CFM's.

But since it uses standard 120mm fans, you can very easily toss some real 120mm fans on there like some S-Flex fans and then make a adapter to run them at 7 or 12v from a DC wall adapter or in my case I would make a custom plug directly from my laptop battery bay. That would be sooo much better than your standard cooler. However $75 is way too much, and to mod it like I just said your looking at another $13 per fan, maybe $10 or more for a DC adapter and $5 for cables.

So just not a reality, however it did make me just think about the fact I COULD mod my NC1000 to accommodate 2x 120mm fans and I just so happen to have an extra s-flex sitting around right now... muahahahahahahah

If I find my G50 runs too hot for my taste you guys might see a rather interesting mod thread poping up here shortly.

none of the other coolers mentioned on this forum can compare to the cryo LX's versatility. u can use it on any surface. your lap or bed/sofa, and do it very comfortably. the front fold down piece is really nice, especially when u fold it under to use on yur lap. it creates a "base" for everythin to sit on, and further raises the platform. no need to worry about fans bein blocked while usin on beds/sofas. i have my cryo LX plugged into a usb hub ~> that is plugged into the wall via ac plug. i leave it on 6-8+ hours a day and its been great so far. i've done some brief testing and have gained results that were better than the zalman units.

only con to some would be its pure size. if u dont mind luggin another 5 lbs around, then u should be fine. i use this on my desk most of the time. i have gamed on it once for 7 hours straight, while playin on my lap. it even kept my legs cool while coolin my notebook.

The notepal infinity can be used anywhere also, and its much cheaper it draws air from the back of the unit so you can use it in bed or something. Plus its got a great fan design.

the cryo LX can also raise the notebook up an additional amount after u fold the front under.

and the infinity has already been tested. it cools the outer edges of yur laptop and not the middle.
