Just so excited. The sound quality is top notch for a $110 pair of headphones. Only thing is it's a bit quiet on my computer (but fine on my Sansa Fuze v2). Good thing I have the Fiio E5 headphone amp, it really brings out the sound.
edit: after a few hours of use, the earpads is getting a little uncomfortable. Any suggestions as to a fairly cheap yet comfortable replacement? Probably going to cut a quarter sized hole in the center of my earpads to decrease the muffle.

Alessandro MS1's are very close to the Grado SR-80 / SR-125 headphones. Grado headphones make you look like a 1950's Air Force radio operator, and let everyone else around you share in the music that you're listening to. But in terms of sound quality, they are for your ears.
There are a few different kinds of mods / replacement ear pads for them. A simple one that people do a lot is to do exactly what you had suggested - cut a quarter-sized hole in the middle. This helps to tame and neutralize the sound signature a bit. But I would suggest that you burn those headphones in for a few dozen hours first, to let the sound signature settle down, before you make any mods.
If your concern is comfort, then there are a few replacement pad options that you can get, ranging from either pads that sit on top of your ears ( supra-aural), to pads that surround your ears ( circum-aural), to home-user frankenmods. -
BTW, any chance of putting up some pics of those headphones connected to your rig? I do enjoy me some headphone .

Sure. Just finished surgery with my scalpel (better than an X-acto blade lol). My first patient is recovering from the quarter hole mod
edit: the cutting kinda sucks, but it was done in about 1 minute lol. Burning it in until tomorrow. My Fuze v2 (w/ Rockbox) and E5 on the back (clipped to the armband).Attached Files:
