So I just got a new pair of headphones (Grado SR-60i) and having searched around a few places, I'd like to ask for some final recommendations. I am looking for a sub-$200 and fairly portable amp/DAC for my new headphones. I'll be listening to music on my laptop/desktop (integrated audio) and Sansa Fuze (would my Fiio E5 amp work decently with my Grado?). It seems like the best/most popular under this criteria are the Leckerton Audio UHA-4, iBasso D4 Mamba, and maybe the Headroom Total BitHead. Which one would you pick (or feel free to suggest another) and why? Thanks :)

See if you like the Fiio E5 first, if you want to upgrade to something better the new Fiio E7 is much better and my top recommendation goes to the NuForce uDAC-2

Well, the E5 did a great job for my RE0 IEMs, but I'm looking for a DAC more (an amp is just a bonus) since my desktop has some crappy noise with its integrated audio. I'll look into the E7 and uDAC2 though.

A bit too expensive for me, but thanks for the recommendation.

Btw, the E7 and iBasso D2/D4 both use the same wolfson and TI setup.

uDAC2 isnt portable, its more convenient to have a portable uDAC with a built in battery like the Fiio e7 or D2+
