Whoa! I am blown away, awesome packaging, very elegant, quality mat, and I thought it was never worth it buying a mouse pad. I was using an ASUS gaming mousepad that I got with an ASUS gaming laptop I bought 3 years ago and was so used to it. When I tried this thing, it's like I bought a new mouse! the mouse movement is so smooth and accurate now! Highly recommended if you want to buy a mouse pad. IT IS worth it!

Just sandblast your own piece of aluminum, costs much less and will be the same.

Also, I remember you have a G9x? The only difference the pad makes with that mouse is decrease the severity of the random accel of the mouse sensor inherently has (A/S9500).

I have the Alienware Merciless MG900 bro.

I am loving this mouse pad, it's a different world of precision and accuracy compared to what it was before with the standard mouse pad.

Do note though, I always had the DPI level on the 2nd level now even the 2nd level is way too fast for me so I set it back at the first level and it's perfect. Seems like it changes the way the DPI level behaves with this new mousepad

Alienware mouses are the same as the Logitech ones, only the exterior shell is different.

Be careful with aluminum pads tho, they eat mousefeets really fast compared to cloth.

Razer does make some good quality mouse mat
personally I think those ridiculously priced metal mats are for suckers
but I love the legendary goliathus
I had a tiny speed edition, but just bought an extended speed (the largest size) as a desk mat, it's so comfy!
The mouse tracking is good, the mat itself is very well made.
And it's very cheap!!! at least in my region, it's almost halve the price of a corsair large mat
Even I'm using a corsair mouse and don't use my deathadder anymore, still love this mat

I would consider the old version of the Goliathus, the "new" ones have weird graphics that can mess with the tracking of some sensors.

A better option compared to Aluminum is glass, which has less resistance compared to Aluminum and lasts longer (provided that if you don't drop it) - they are also cheap to make at building materials store. Note that the glass needs to be frosted in order for the mouse to work.

Aluminum mouse pad? Would never have thunk it...

Wonder how well they work compared to traditional fabric mousemats.

Not sure why you feel it's more "accurate" (unless your original frabic mouse pad was really poor), but the low friction of hard surface (not necessarily as hardcore as metal) mouse pads is definatly a plus, especily with heavy mouses.

The mouse feet plays a big role as well. Do keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't wore out, which would come quick on a metal surface. Some after market replacments are indeed better on the smoothness front.

Mice tend to work best on hard, smooth, clean, non-reflective surfaces. That mouse pad does a good job of meeting those recommendations for the vast majority of mice out there.

The A9500 is more consistent on hard surfaces compared to cloth materials.

Not true about the hard part, if you use the sensor at a lower DPI level like 400-1600 then it will be as accurate on a cloth pad compared to a hard pad.

If you crank the DPi up, then I would recommend a hard pad. Even the most advanced sensor until now (3366 @G502) jitters when the DPi is set above 2000-2400 on most cloth surfaces.

Arrr, I must have been using hard (mostly plastic, not really into metal) pads for too long I forgot how well the frabic ones work.

    Is it cloth or metal?
Ive had a razor metal one for years now, i think i may get a new one sometimes i feel it gets stuck and i dont know if its the pad or the mouse

Are you sure it's painted and not just anodized?

I like it man! I would never go back to a standard / cloth mousepad ever! the experience I had with this mouse pad is like a night and day difference! It cost 50 bucks but was definitely worth every buck for the smoothness and precision it gave me!

I didn't have a cloth mousepad, I had a gaming mousepad which I got with my older ASUS G750JX, I thought that's the best a mouse pad can be as it was a gaming mousepad, it's a joke compared to the manticore
