Does anyone here know of a product that functions like a KVM switch only without the video part? I have a Vista desktop PC that I use for gaming and a Macbook Pro for pretty much everything else. I would have them connected to one monitor, keyboard, and mouse. I can use different video inputs but would like to use the same keyboard and mouse. The Windows machine has no problems using VGA, but VGA looks like crap when plugging the Mac into it. And I don't want to spend $100+ for a DVI KVM switch.

If anyone has information about a USB peripheral switch, I'd appreciate any links. Google isn't any help because anything I type in gives links to full KVM devices.

There are a few KVMs from StarTech available at NewEgg that will do well. If you get the 2 port VGA one (and just not use the VGA) that would work.
