I am looking to get a Kensington lock for my HP NC6400 and was hoping for some advice.
I have basically decided on a combination lock because of the ease of which the barrel locks can apparently be picked.
I have never used one before and I was a bit concerned that the size of the combination locks might lift the corner of the laptop off the table when it was inserted which would be a deal breaker for me. Is this an actual problem?
I have seen various sizes at the Kensington site and around the net but really have no idea what one I should be looking at. Unfortunately I have to do this all on the internet and so I am really hoping of getting the right one the first time out.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Plus, he could just grab a bolt cutter...
The "alarmed" lock also makes a good deterrent, but it's actually fairly easy to disable the alarm first apparently.
In the end, it doesn't matter though - the thing's a deterrent to the opportunistic guy who simply walks by, so just get the most convenient and cheapest model.
Any real thief intent on getting your laptop will be prepared with cable cutters or other tools. -
I agree that this is mostly a deterrent, but I should also add that I am terribly forgetful and would most like lose my key while it is attached to some fence post in the rain. Don't ask... it could happen.
Thanks for the heads up on the DS model. I might consider that if I can't find a decent combo version. Anyone with experience with the combo locks?
