so I bought this mouse a bit over a year ago, the first one I got was working fairly fine, aside from disconnecting once in a while or not coming back from sleep, bbut that maybe was my Bluetooth receiver problem. Three months ago the trackball stopped working because it got dirty and it's impossible to clean. So they sent me a new one which now at the problem of not responding for 20/30 a few times every half hour or so.
Is anybody having problems of reliability in the long run with this mouse? I'm very tired of all this problems and I asked customer support to replace it with a trackball. I don't know if they will do it, but I was reading on Amazon that other people are having a bunch of problems. I like this mouse generally, I really like the horizontal scrolling for Excel and a few other programs, but I also think the buttons are too hard to click and require too much pressure.
I'm curios to hear from other users what their experience has been so far with this mouse.

my housemate bought a keyboard mouse set..not sure what model it was but it was pretty much the top of the line from kensington..had a detachable keypad worked using bluetooth etc etc. he had the same bluetooth problems as you where it would not recognize the pc and problems along those lines..needless to say he lasted about a month before he returned..
dont get me wrong but why on earth would you buy kensington when youve got brands like logitech or even microsoft.. -
because logitech and microsoft really suck at ergonomics, and they had no mouse with trackball attached.
but in the end i think is also BT that is still somewhat unreliable.
kensington is only good for trackballs -
I like the Kensington designs too. Before the Kensingtons I had some Logitech... V470 I think... and I found the bulbous shape uncomfortable and it would make my hand hurt. I find the flatter Kensington designs more comfortable. (Some of the newer Logitechs may be a bit better though.) However, I still use a larger Logitech desktop mouse when I'm at my desk.
Anyway, I had the Kensington Bluetooth Slimblade Trackball Mouse. I found that, with the problems getting it to wake/connect... it helps to notice the LED lights at the back of the mouse... and watch those lights while you press and hold the middle button (near the trackball). When it's lit up, you should be connected. I forget all the details now, but see if you can find the manual online or something, to check about reconnecting.
I eventually stopped using that mouse because the right mouse button broke.
I ended up replacing it with a Kensington Slimblade mouse with nano receiver (non-bluetooth). This one doesn't have quite as nice a feel, being plastic, and also being smaller it's slightly less comfortable for me. But it kind of makes up for it by being smaller and lighter and having good battery life, and being less expensive. The responsiveness is a little better too, since it's non-Bluetooth. Anyway, I'd give it about 3 out of 5... super compact and portable if that's what you're after. If you are mouse-shopping though, there are some other nice designs out now... Logitech has one that I like... MX Anywhere I think it's called, or something like that.
