Hi all! I have bought a Samsung ATIV Book 8 six months ago and I'm super happy with it, but there is one little thing that bothers me: when I close the screen it touches the keys of the keyboard. This is not a problem by itself, but it happens that even though I usually keep t pretty clean, if there is a little bit of dust on the keys I can see the "print" of the keys on the screen when I open it again. And this is the annoying thing to me. Can you recommend a super slim cover for the keyboard to put inside when I close the laptop as a separation? It has to be super slim because this laptop is very thin and it doesn't have empty spaces when closed...

Didn't the laptop come with some sort of cloth screen cover when it shipped to you (or you picked it up from the store)? Just use that.

My old Inspiron 8200 keys also touch the screen when closed. When I used to carry it around with me I would use a felt pad between the keyboard and the screen that I purchased at Michaels.

I would be careful. I remember a notebook that had the keys too close to the screen like you describe. The model was prone to broken screens. Seems putting it into a back pack sometimes compressed the display hard enough onto the keys to break the display. It only happened to a small percentage of that model. But it happened to that model more than other models.
The manufacturer came out with a fix. They made the rubber spacers around the display thicker. These were the rubber squares around the display that covered some screw holes as I remember. It was a long time ago. -
It's not really a screen breakage problem.
The real issue is contact damage over a long period. This happens a lot on Sony screens which are flexy by default and therefore have a lot more friction contact with the keys as the notebook flexes inside a bag, but is not limited to it, e.g. the Barbiebook Air's also suffer from this issue long-term - and keys end up permanently marking the screen by gradually wearing down the protective coating on the screen through a build-up of small amounts of contact friction during portage.
If you want to prevent it, really any non-marking, lint-free cloth will do the job. -

Personally I don't have this problem because on my Samsung Laptop the keyboard is like kinda dug out so it's sitting in a ditch like position not high enough to touch the screen.
But I've seen someone prevent this is the solution below:
I think you can find such cloths at a computer retail store. -
-
No, because point pressure will create sharp ridges.
-
Then a small thin sheet of rubber. He can get that at any hardware store as well.
-
Just get a square of felt or microfiber cloth at a crafts store.
-
I suppose that is the price to pay for having something so thin and light..... I cant tolerate grimy keys and screen so I always carry a small patch of microfibre cloth to give them two some wipes when needed...
