So I am going to have to walk around with the beast that is the M6500 Covet as I've decided to buy a limited number in the end - which means that I have to lug them between locations at times. (Still looking for a backpack ideally to do that with, but that's a separate matter...)

The notebook is a bright bronze-y orange. So my existing generic cheapo 17-inch sleeve clashes quite badly.

I need The King Of Sleeves. Protective but ideally not adding any more to the weight/size - and of course, a colour that doesn't clash. Recommendations please.

    Laptop dimensions:
    Width: 15.4"/393mm
    Depth: 11.0"/280.5mm
    Height: 1.35"/34.5mm(F), 1.5"/38.5mm(B)

    There is no particular budget.

Hold the phone. The Dell Covet starts at around $4000 and you intend to be carrying it around? Lucky you; it must be nice having deep pockets. If I could afford one, I wouldn't move it off the desk without a hard case.

I, too, would be interested in finding a good 17" laptop sleeve. I have been looking for a nice sleeve for my 17" HP 8710w (with a slice battery attached on the bottom as well) for some time now ... I have not had much luck, but am still searching....

Well - accidental damage is a factor, but that's why I have accidental damage insurance and spares.

A soft sleeve would be fine, but I'll take a hard one if it doesn't add much to the size / weight. I also ideally want something a bit out of the ordinary. I know it's probably a tough call as anything 'fancy' is probably Macbook-destined which likely has no chance of fitting the Dell (or the HP w for that matter), but I figured someone has to have a few suggestions.

What I mean is that if I want a regular nylon or neoprene flapover there are hundreds of pretty samey choices. Something Out Of The Ordinary - or I might as well just order the Fabrix that I liked to above.

If I pointed a Shrink-Ray at the Covet, sure.

EDIT: And there's also something intrinsically hipsterish about the BUILT's which makes me want to punch anyone carrying it in the face.

Right - in the light of a lack of groovy suggestions and my need to travel constantly soon, I'm going with one of my choices. Thanks
