If everything goes according to plan, I'll need to pick up a backpack that can house an 18.4" Clevo in the intervening months. I'm not sure if the local backpack market has something that big so any suggestions on which brands and models to look for would be greatly appreciated.

I find it hard to believe that no one owns an 18.4" backpack, surely there must be someone out there with a suggestion on where to start looking?

I've been recommended Belkin or Targus, but I'm not sure what specific model to look out for.

The Targus XL may accomodate such a behemoth. All I can tell you is that it takes a sleeved Dell Covet / 8740w - both of which are admittedly significantly more svelte than a kinda-pointless-as-a-laptop-that-you-can-actually-carry-around-class-DTR.

Point taken about 18.4" portability, but in my case that's what I'm paying for and what I'll be using for the next 5 years. What exactly is the Dell Covet / 8740w? Is it one of the bigger laptops in the market?

Two models to consider then, although the "review" is just a single post with no meaningful info on it.

Ive got a Targus XXL laptop case that takes my 20.1" laptop, used it for over 2 years and its still going good, bearing in mind the laptop weighs a good 16lbs with the brick and I only ever use the handle.

    You're referring to this right?

The dimensions will fit, a shame it's a case and not a backpack. I might be forced to take it if I don't have an alternative though.
