what kinda cable will i need to use for this. I wnat to use it as an external monitor of sorts. But also i'd like to be able to use the TV's speakers for the audio also. Both my Laptop and the TV are HD so what kinda cables should i get/how much will this costs.

It depends on what video output port your laptop and TV has.
HDMI will allow video and audio transfer, but if you have a VGA and/or DVI, you'll need a secondary cable to output your audio from your laptop to your TV.

If your laptop does in fact have an HDMI port, you need a HDMI cable. It does both audio and video.
