Hi, I'd like to purchase an LCD monitor to connect my laptop to (ThinkPad T400, see below for specs). My budget is $300-$450 ($500 would be an absolute stretch). I'm looking for a pretty good quality, fast monitor. This will be mostly for work (number crunching, spreadsheets, multiple windows), as opposed to gaming or TV.

Any suggestions for models and/ or places to buy? Also - thoughts on refurbished monitors?

    Thanks!!

Dell ultrasharp monitors are great. You can get the 24" in that price range. I got the 22" 2208wfp for 229+tax a week ago, but the 24" provides much better resolution though at a cost.

For the most part any monitor is going to display numbers and spreadsheets pretty well, where monitors begin to get complicated is when they are used for gaming and tv viewing. the biggest thing i would take into acount for this would probably be the resolution of the monitor. i am a fan of the samsung T200 series might wanna check those guys out, as well as some of the LG's out there too
