Recently I have been looking to buy an external monitor to go with my T60, I really like the HP w2207 but, I began to think if I should just go ahead and buy a 22" HDTV and hook my computer up to that and have it dual as a TV and Monitor, instead of the HP w2207 where I would have to go though my computer to watch TV. What do you guys think?

the resolutions of tv sucks for pc usage.
and often time the colors and everything isnt as good as a regular monitor. -
there is a point at which is it better IMO to go with a 1080p hdtv vs a lcd monitor. Right now that is the 27" point. The smallest hdtv with 1080p is the sharp at 32" but those are somewhat overpriced. The westinghouse 37"W3 was the best deal going for about 800 some time ago (or 600 refurb if you dare).
Nowadays however, the smallest TV's are 40-42", but if you're a savvy buyer, many can be had for under 1000 or close to it and can serve as an all in one TV watching, PC use, or gaming system display -

I have one of the 37" W3's and I love it. Best thing I ever got for my computer period. Plus I play my Wii on it aswell.
1080p is more than good enough for a pc resolution. Infact it may be higher than alot of peoples monitor resolutions that they currently have.
I will never be able to use a computer monitor smaller than 37" and be happy with it from this point out. Alot of people spend thousands of dollars getting like a triple monitor setup its great because it makes you feel like your in the game more due to it taking up all of your perifial vision, you can get a similar effect with just one big screen and not need the 2x SLI 8800GTX's and 3 monitors to pull it off, also no need to hack games to support a super wide aspect for 3 monitors. Also I watch alot of movies so it was a nice upgrade vs my old 17" lcd wich was a huge upgrade from my 15" crt.
Seriously no way can words explane how nice it is. I would rather have my old p4 5700ultra pc with this monitor than have a 8800gtx core2quad machine with a 19" lcd.
No point in having all that power when the interface of wich you look at it is not up to par. -

As much as I would like to buy a 37" 1080p I can't afford it right now
I think I am going to end up getting the 22" HP LCD
LCD Monitor or HDTV
