i read alot of threads on this forum and came to the conclusion that tv tuners don't get the quality you want from normal tv. so should i just buy a lcd tv that can connect to pc also or would you still recommend tv tuner + lcd?

High resolution Monitor + High Definition Tuner with DVI output.
A monitor like this:

The resolution on so called "LCD TVs" is utterly terrible. -
I read this from another post, I forgot who posted it, but this is how it goes:
Regular LCD TVs are terrible at showing computer text because the resolution is just too low. A 40" $2000 Samsung LCD has, I believe, 1366 x 768 pixels, and that's spread out through a huge 40" TV whereas a 20" WSXGA+ monitor will display 1680 x 1080 on a mere 20". A regular LCD monitor is bad for displaying TV images because it'll have to stretch the regular analog TV resolution of 640 x 480 to fit the high resolution screen of 1680 x 1080, resulting in enlarged, squarey pixels. I'm not sure if the resolutions are right, but that's just the gist of it.
Lil Mayz suggestion will work because interlaced HDTV displays at 1920 x 1080 while interlacing and the 2407FPW is a 1920 x 1200 TV. So, if you're watching HD, you'll have little black bars on the sides. Aside from that, everything will look nice very crisp. Hope that helps, and I HOPE I'm not misleading you if I'm wrong. -
yes you are quite right FunkDunk, you have a made crucial point. An analog TV transmittion reoslution is often very poor, but High Definition is very rapidly becoming normal and with new satellite and cable television transmittion services such as Comcast in the US and Sky in the UK, you can get HD channels, and most channels are now broadcasted in HD with Comcast.
It is worth paying the little extra to get the HD Cable/Satellite box.
LCD+TV Tuner or LCD TV
