Anyone ever seen a flash drive that has some clear cover I can remove and install a paper label under? Weird request but seems like something that would be pretty nice/useful to me, if you have a lot of OSes or other drives you want to be left alone. I will probably just end up using masking tape or something but maybe there is an option out there.

I know that this site (OEMPCworld) sells USB flash drives with custom logos, but I don't know of one that sells exactly what you're looking for offhand.

I know it's not necessarily what you want to hear (I did read your post thoroughly), but...

I have several USB removable media myself (thumbdrives, portable HDs, etc), and to keep them semi-organized, I bought and use a DYMO LetraTag label maker. IIRC, they're not usually more than $20~$30, unless you get the ones will all the bells and whistles...

It's even come in handy for labeling my external HDDs (at least the enclosures they're in), as well as my laptop's service tag number, so I have it within eyesight if I ever need to reference it without flipping the laptop over to find those teeny, tiny little letters and numbers...

If you DO happen across something like what you're looking for, please be sure to post back about it, I'm sure there are more people who'd like to find something like that.

EDIT: I forgot, I have seen SanDisk USB drives that come with the clear or colored sleeves... You could apply a label from the DYMO, then slide the sleeve over it, I'm guessing that's what you're after(???) Only thing is, I've searched on NewEgg and TigerDirect, and I can't find them anymore. I guess they're too old of a model, unless you find them locally somewhere...
