I've got my laptop hooked up to my LCD TV and Surround receiver. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse but the chair or couch isn't really ideal as a gaming surface. Are there any workstation/lap desk things? Which do you like? I found this one and don't know if anyone has used anything like this.

You'd probably save yourself $33.95 if you went to Home Depot and bought a piece of plywood.

I have one of of thin lapdesk things from that place. It is nice for portability and I used it forever. ATM I am waiting for the Logitech Portable Lapdesk N315 to arrive on 3/10 from Amazon since I just got the Alienware M11x. For at home use though I'd just use something bigger and more robust.

Just last week, I got 2 of the Multi-Purpose Jumbo LapDesk for $10 (on clearance) YMMV. The are smooth on top so whatever you use on em should have rubber feet or grip.

Edit: Got the Jumbo Desk on clearance at Best Buy. Forgot to clarify.

OUCH! I imagine the splinters wouldn't feel too good.

And if you sand/paint it up you shouldn't be getting any splinters anyways.
